NEW Town signing Frank Sinclair left Turf Moor with warm praise from Burnley boss Steve Cotterill ringing in his ears.

Sinclair was one of Cotterill's first signings as Clarets manager in the 2004 close-season and made more than 100 appearances for the Lancashire club, taking his career tally past 500.

He was skipper for a spell, and Cotterill said: "Frank has been a fantastic servant.

"He's never been a minute's bother and he leaves with the best wishes of everyone at Burnley.

"He was magnificent from his first game, a friendly against Everton, to his last (the 1-0 home loss to Stoke last month).

"Frank's certainly been good for me, and I'd like to think I've been good for him.

"We'll miss him, because he's a great character, but football evolves.

"We're thinking of the future, and so must Frank with a move we all hope works out for him."
