Chris Burke will head to Huddersfield buoyed by another Scotland call-up.
Nottingham Forest’s former Birmingham City winger is in the squad to face Germany.
The world champions host Gordon Strachan’s side in Dortmund in the opening round of Euro 2016 qualifiers on Sunday, September 7.
Burke, 30, a free transfer arrival at Forest in the summer, has seven caps.
Strachan has expressed admiration for Callum McGregor’s attitude on and off the pitch after the Celtic midfielder was rewarded for an impressive start to the season with a national call.
The 21-year-old has scored four times for the Scottish champions and has been named amid injuries to his Parkhead teammates Scott Brown and James Forrest and Hull’s Robert Snodgrass.
McGregor netted 14 goals on loan to Notts County last season.
Strachan said: “There was room in that area and it was nice to bring a youngster in.
“I like to have people in who can eliminate people and go by them.”
