TOWN defender Joe Skarz is not for sale!

That's the emphatic message from manager Lee Clark as Skarz prepares to make his loan debut for Hartlepool at Southend tonight, where Galpharm development coach Paul Stephenson will be in the stands.

"Joe is the only player who has gone out on loan who is not available," explained Clark.

"The other players who have been loaned are either not in my long-term planning or out of contract in the summer and they are putting themselves in the shop window.

"Joe is not in that boat and I have stipulated to Hartlepool that there is no chance of him going there permanently.

"There is no prospect of anyone taking him. It's been a frustrating spell for Joe because of the form of Robbie Williams and also the presence of Dominik Werling, but Joe is a terrific kid, a very good prospect and this is an opportunity for him to play first-team football to the end of the season. It suits us and it suits Joe and we'll watch every game he plays."

Town have Phil Jevons on loan at Bury, Tom Denton and Daniel Codman at Wakefield, Danny Broadbent at Harrogate Town and Keigan Parker at Hartlepool.
