TOWN manager Lee Clark revealed Tom Clarke is straining at the leash to be involved in tonight's FA Cup first-round clash against Dagenham & Redbridge at the Galpharm Stadium (7.45).

The 21-year-old defender has not played a match since undergoing knee surgery at the beginning of September but was one of the seven substitutes named by the manager for last Sunday's 1-0 League I victory against Oldham at Boundary Park.

Now, he's itching to play against John Still's League II frontrunners Dagenham as Town bid to earn a place in Sunday afternoon's FA Cup second round draw (3.35, ITV1), but the manager will not reveal his line-up until shortly before kick-off.

"Tom is doing great and he has trained well again," explained boss Clark.

"It was a boost for him to be involved, albeit as an unused substitute, at Oldham and he is showing a tremendous attitude.

"He trains 100% every single day, giving of his best, and it's great to have him back."
