PLAY-OFF chasing Huddersfield Town manager Lee Clark would like to add "one or two experienced players" to his talented League I squad.

The Galpharm chief will secure a top-six place tomorrow if Town win at Stockport and Colchester fail to take three points off Tranmere, but he revealed today he's already thinking about recruitment for next season.

Confirming Dean Heffernan and Robbie Simpson are available for the trip to Edgeley Park, Clark commented: "No matter what league you are in, you are always looking at bringing in higher-level players with a view to moving forward.

"The flip side of the coin is that those players don't always want to drop a level, but we have already started the process of what we might do in the summer.

"The situation is that because of our recruitment drive last summer, when we completely overhauled the squad, and the loans we brought in during January, our work this time doesn't have to be quite so intense or involve the same numbers we have already talked about.

"What I would certainly like to do is bring in one or two experienced players. The young lads we've got here are very talented, but at times when things are not going quite their way I feel they just need a little bit of help when they get over that white line - and good quality experienced players will be able to do that."
