GARY TAYLOR-FLETCHER wants to become Town's top scorer in his own right against Chesterfield tonight (7.45)

The 24-year-old is on 14 for the season, level with Andy Booth at the top of the list, and would love to follow his equaliser at Bournemouth with a Galpharm winner for Peter Jackson's side.

Fletch admits the chase to be leading marksman - Pawel Abbott is just one behind on 13 - is secondary to the promotion cause, but he wants to win on both counts as he hunts a goal in three successive Galpharm games.

"I'm joint with Boothy now and he's out at the moment, so I have got a chance to finish top scorer - but the most important thing is that I keep it going against Chesterfield and keep my place in the team," said Fletch. "Everyone is battling for the same thing and we know this is a massive home game for us.

"All the lads are looking forward to it because we've had a couple of very long journeys the last couple of weeks and it will be nice to get back on home soil and, hopefully, to take three points.

"We are all confident about the run-in and chasing down that second spot, but we are desperate for the three points against Chesterfield and, if we get them, it will be a huge boost."

Fletch will again partner David Graham as Town target a 14th home win.

"I'm obviously hoping my 14th `tap-in' of the season at Bournemouth proves to earn us a big point, but we have to keep it going in this vital game for us," he said.

"We are going into it knowing we played some terrific football on Saturday and really positive about doing well."
