THIS Saturday’s match will feature Town wearing a special shirt supporting Help for Heroes.

The Supporters Association sends its thanks and best wishes to all football supporters who are serving in the Armed Forces.

In particular, the following members are noted:

Anne Hillock, whose son Jason Rogers is stationed at Lechenfield, Beverley.

Dave Holt, whose dad was in the RAF and who still lives at Catterick Garrison.

Diane Whaites, whose son, Matthew, is with the 3rd Battalion, Yorkshire Regiment, stationed in Warminster and who is due a tour of duty in Afghanistan next April.

Andrew Moore and Brian Sykes who sit in the Fantastic Media stand. Andrew has been a serving soldier for 28 years and Brian, a retired officer, served for 45 years.

Our thanks to them all.

Meanwhile, at the Association’s annual meeting, the following members of the HTSA board were re-elected: Gerald Bould, Stephen King, Andrew Moseley, Sian Patrick, Robert Pepper, Trevor Whitehead and Robert Wood.

We must also put on record our sincere thanks to Marcus Garside, who has stepped down as treasurer after being involved with HTSA from its inception.

Our gratitude also extends to Michael Scott, who for many years was a most reliable coach steward for HTSA and who has very generously offered to take over the reins as treasurer.

At the committee meeting following the AGM, Stephen King was elected as chair in order to continue the initiatives that he has introduced while being acting chair.

With a new start, it is appropriate to reiterate the following extracts from our code of conduct for coach travel.

It is illegal to carry or consume alcohol on any coach.

Passengers are expected to conduct themselves appropriately at all times while travelling with HTSA. They should not engage in any activity that is detrimental to the interests of fellow passengers or HTSA.

We now have an extra trip, of course, since last Sunday’s draw for the first round of the FA Cup and the HTSA coach to Swindon will leave the Galpharm at 8.30am. The price for members is £18 with a £2 surcharge for non-members.

To book your seat, please text or telephone Trev Whitehead on 07926 165863 or email htsaway@gmail.com

Alternatively, please call into the cabin at the St Andrew’s end of the ground this Saturday. Would anyone booked with HTSA for Charlton please note that HTSA will NOT be running a coach, given the switch of date and time and the club’s offer of free travel.
