PROSPECTIVE Town owner Adam Pearson today indicated he’s hoping to have “positive talks” with chairman Ken Davy.

The 43-year-old Batley-born businessman – a lifelong Leeds Road fan – is keen to get back into football after selling Hull City in the summer and believes Town might fit the bill.

While agreeing to a meeting, Davy insists he is “not in the market” to sell the club.

Pearson, however, hopes he can change that view and today outlined why he has made an approach.

“I am hoping to have a meeting imminently with Ken and, until that has happened, I don’t think it’s fair to be talking about this,” said Pearson, who helped guide the Tigers to two promotions and into the Championship.

“Hopefully the meeting will be positive and there will be comments to come from there, but it will be a private meeting and we’ll see how things go.”

Having been linked with several other clubs – including Premiership Derby County – after making a bid for Leeds United, where he was once commercial executive, Pearson explained his interest in Town.

“I’ve been watching Town since 1972 and apart from the time when I was involved in football at Leeds United and Hull City, I’ve watched them regularly ever since,” he said.

“Obviously, as the club I’ve supported, I know the potential and I think it’s a good club.

“We are in contact, and I’m going to be trying extremely hard to make a deal happen.”

Pearson will be in the crowd for tomorrow’s Galpharm clash with Luton (noon).

New loan signing Ronnie Wallwork is expected to make his debut while striker Danny Cadamarteri will definitely make his first start since signing in the summer..
