IT was a good day for Collegians in the Huddersfield Minor FA Cup as both the Under 13s (see other report) and Under 15s went into finals.

Despite putting up a strong display, Honley Under 15s were unable to find a reply as Craig Burns and Jordan Molloy strikes gave Collegians a 2-0 victory.

Collegians opponents in the final will be Lepton Highlanders, who received a bye into the final.

Back in the RCD League, Meltham Under 16s’ Division II title ambitions came unstuck at the hands of Kirkheaton.

Meltham scored through Jack Ellis-Pownall, but a goal each for Jackson and Lanzito ensured victory for Kirkheaton.

The Under 13 Division III title race looks like being settled when second placed Longcroft Lions travel to meet leaders Shelf, but Longcroft only stayed in contention following a nerve-jangling goal feast against Thornhill.

Goals from Daniel Parry (2), Adam Bennett (2), Adam Allerton and an own goal set a huge target, but Longcroft were equal to the challenge.

A Devant Quashie hat trick, two for Kyle Pyke, one each for Daniel Mazurek and Kristian Lee, coupled with an own goal, gave the Almondbury side victory in the 14-goal thriller.

Linthwaite Under 14s stay in the promotion places thanks to a solid win over Brighouse.

Both Brighouse goals came from Keiran Agus, but replies from Thomas Barron (2), Joshua Ruddiman and Jack Wadsworth gave Linthwaite a 4-2 victory.

Lepton Under 15s pulled clear of the Division I relegation places with a comfortable 6-0 win at Clifton Rangers.

A Ben Sykes hat trick, together with two goals from Adam Hill and one from Jack Storrie were enough to ensure three points.
