A CLEAN sheet and a solid win - surely all that Town fans could ask for?

Examiner sports reporter Pete Barrow has given his marks on last night's performance - if you went, do you agree?

Town fans gave us their votes today and these are on Page Two, while Pete's views are below.

IAN BENNETT

An unexpectedly quiet night for the Town keeper who dealt well with what little came his way in a solid show 7

STEPHEN JORDAN

The Sheffield United loan player was unfussy in his second start and steady at the back for his new team 7

LEE PELTIER

Was in the wars in the second half but produced a very tidy performance back at right back in a changed line-up 7

JOEY GUDJONSSON

Was an irritation to the United side in terms of his passing and ability to mix it with the opposition in midfield 7

PETER CLARKE

A very strong display as Towns defence comfortably soaked up almost everything that was thrown at them 8

ANTONY KAY

Returned to central defence and produced one of his best displays with some no-nonsense work 8

KEVIN KILBANE

Was Towns guiding hand going forward and the steadying influence in front of the defence 7

SCOTT ARFIELD

The energetic Scottish midfield man was in busy mood and was one of the more creative players 7

ANTHONY PILKINGTON

Netted his 14th goal of the season to seal a vital win for Town and looked lively going forward all night 8

LEE NOVAK

A constant thorn in the side of Uniteds defence, he was a threat all match and virtually ran himself in the ground 9

GARY ROBERTS

Stretched the home defence by sticking to his flank and creating numerous openings in a strong first-half display 8
