From time to time you get to take part in an event which makes you realise what great people are involved in sport.

Last Tuesday, I set off from York City at 8am and walked to Elland Road in Leeds.

That might seem crazy, but I was part of Jeff Stelling’s Men United March, raising money and awareness to combat prostate cancer.

Soccer Saturday’s star anchor has undertaken to walk 10 marathons in 10 days.

News. Sky TV Sports presenter Jeff Stelling is doing a charity walk to help Prostate Cancer UK. He arrived on an early stage from Hartlepool to Boro's Riverside Stadium.

He started out from his beloved Hartlepool on Monday and, by the time he finishes, he will be at Wembley stadium.

On Good Friday he’s going from Derby County via Burton to Nottingham Forest and Notts County.

It’s Wolves via Walsall, West Brom and Aston Villa to Birmingham City on Saturday.

And he’ll spend Easter Sunday walking from Coventry City to Leicester City.

Northampton Town to MK Dons follows, with Luton to Watford and then AFC Wimbledon to Wembley.

We were joined by various sports personalities on our leg to Leeds, which was 32 miles – but all 60 of us had made it by 7.30pm!

Everyone felt something really significant had been achieved, and it is a great cause, with the Football League having very close connections to the charity Prostate Cancer Uk.

So far, Jeff has raised over £200,000 – and there are opportunities to make donations on line.

I will certainly be following Jeff as he makes his way down the country.
