ANDY HOLDSWORTH believes the satisfaction of beating Leeds will outweigh getting the cold shoulder from family and friends!

At home in Hemsworth, near Pontefract, Town’s match-winner is surrounded by Elland Road supporters, including his dad Ted.

“I’ll be making a few phone calls, but people might not be speaking to me,” admitted the 24-year-old, who after a long barren run, has netted three times in five games.

“It was great to score again – as a wing-back, you have to push up, and the cross from Joe Skarz fell perfectly for me to head it in.

“But the most important thing is to win the game, because we all knew just how much it would mean to the fans.

“It was also good to get one back on them after what they did to us at Elland Road (Leeds won 4-0 back in December).

“It was a great atmosphere, reminiscent of when we beat Sheffield Wednesday here three seasons ago, and a great night.”

The only consolation for sixth-placed Leeds was that nearest rivals Walsall lost 1-0 at home to Bristol Rovers.
