Brighouse Town will host Gateshead side Whickham in the third round of the Vase while FC Halifax Town have a home derby against Guiseley in the first round of the FA Trophy.

Whickham, who come to the Dual Seal Stadium on Saturday, December 7, play in the Second Division of the Northern League.

They were 3-0 home winners over Brighouse’s Northern Counties East League rivals Parkgate on Saturday.

Paul Quinn’s Town, who made the fourth round (last 32) last season, won 2-0 at Stoke side Norton United, of the North West Counties League.

Town are in NCEL Premier Division action tonight (7.45), when they host Glasshoughton MW. It’s free entry as a gesture of thanks to supporters.

Skrill Conference side Halifax’s renewal of rivalries with Guiseley will be a week on Saturday, November 30.

There were five meetings between the neighbours last season, with the Shaymen winning two and the other three drawn.

The victories came in the Conference North play-off semi-final second leg – Halifax went on to win promotion by beating Brackley Town – and the final of the West Riding FA County Cup.

There are 32 first-round ties – Skrill Conference sides have been exempt until thus stage – and holders Wrexham will start their defence with a home tie against Gresley from the Northern Premier League Division One South.
