A HUDDERSFIELD school has reached the final of a prestigious national indoor football competition.

Honley High School (pictured) were crowned winners of the regional finals of The Carnegie FDS Cup after beating off competition from six other schools in the region.

They will now represent the region in the national final held at Leeds Metropolitan University where they will play against 15 teams from England, Scotland and Wales.

The Leeds Met Carnegie FDS Cup is a 5-a-side Brazilian style indoor football competition for sixth forms and colleges held throughout the United Kingdom and the final will be held tomorrow at Leeds Metropolitan University.

Last year the tournament saw a number of famous faces in attendance with world freestyle champion John Farnworth and Leeds United legend and Scotland international Eddie Gray both present to support competitors and to make the final presentations.
