Huddersfield Town's season ended much like it began, amid plenty of drama as their final-day clash at Blackpool was called off due to a pitch invasion from the home fans, with a decision due on the result this Thursday.

A win would secure Town a first finish above Leeds United since the 1961/1962 season but they are already assured of their highest end position in 15 years after a strong end to the campaign.

Town finished 2014/2015 with a seven-match unbeaten run, matching the run from the end of September to the start of November which truly kick-started Chris Powell's time in charge.

16th or 15th place ensures an improvement from Town on their previous two seasons in the second tier and, hinging on the result awarded to them by the Football League against the Seasiders, they may yet secure their highest tally of goals since returning to the Championship.

They struck 53 times in 2012/2013, 58 times in 2013/2014 and have 58 so far but that would be increased if they were handed a win, although their 75 goals conceded ranks as their worst total in their three years back in the second tier (73 in 2012/2013 and 65 in 2013/2014).

Town may have struggled defensively but, boosted by the creative talents of Player of the Year Jacob Butterfield and the resurgence of Sean Scannell on the right wing under Powell's guidance, the Terriers have been a potent threat all season long in attack.
