Huddersfield Town midfielder Emyr Huws is hoping for the chance to carry his bright form at club level onto the international stage as Wales celebrate Euro 2016 qualification.

The on-loan Wigan Athletic player missed out on a place in the matchday squad against Bosnia-Herzegovina, but is eager to be involved in the home game against Andorra on Tuesday.

Despite losing 2-0 in Zenica, Chris Coleman’s side, previously unbeaten in qualification, were able to celebrate after Group B rivals Israel slipped up at home to Cyprus.

They will complete their 10-match campaign in front of a sell-out 34,000 crowd at the Cardiff City Stadium, where Huws last month played the first of his five Town games to date.

The Llanelli-born 22-year-old, who has scored four goals for Town, won one of his four caps in the 2-1 away win over Andorra last September.

His most recent Wales appearance was in the goalless draw in Belgium in November, after which he suffered an ankle injury while playing for Wigan.

While Coleman took 25 players to Bosnia-Herzegovina, only 23, including three keepers, can be named in a matchday squad, and former Manchester City man Huws missed out.

The last man to represent Wales while playing for Town was also a loanee, then-Swansea City defender Jazz Richards at home to Finland in November 2013.

Now with Fulham, the 24-year-old was on duty on Saturday, as was another former Town loan player, striker Simon Church, now with MK Dons.

Town, who resume their Championship campaign at Ipswich Town on Saturday, host MK next Tuesday, October 20.
