TOWN are to hold a bucket collection in aid of Leukaemia Research at next Saturday’s League I clash with Stockport at the Galpharm.

The visitors are already backing the charity after both brothers of winger Carl Baker were diagnosed with the disease.

Older brother Michael died three days before last Saturday’s game against Yeovil, when Baker made the brave decision to play, and scored both goals in a 2-2 draw.

Now Town are joining forces with their Supporters’ Association to help raise funds via the bucket collection.

Commercial director Sean Jarvis explained: “We are happy to raise awareness of Leukaemia Research in the light of Carl’s tragic circumstances.

“There has been a groundswell of support and empathy for his recent plight and we will do anything possible to help fight this horrible disease.”
