DETERMINED Lee Clark has been scouting again as he hammers home his desire to bring success to Town.
The Galpharm chief was watching potential loan targets in a match last night and will follow up by running the rule over Joe Skarz, Michael Flynn, Dominik Werling and James Berrett in the Reserves against Hartlepool at Billingham tonight.
Striker Phil Jevons picked up a knock in training and isn’t included. Danny Cadamarteri also declared himself unfit while there is no place for David Unsworth in the line-up.
While Andy Holdsworth will be fit to face Cheltenham in League I on Saturday, Clark is looking to all his squad to help end a run of six matches without a win.
“I guarantee we will pick things up because of my belief in myself, my staff, the players I think are good enough and the players I’m going to bring in,” said Clark.
“This is ‘stand up and be counted’ time where we will find out who wants to be part of things here and who doesn’t.
“Anyone can be brilliant when things are going well for you, the results are coming in and people are patting you on the back.
“But when things are not going so well, that’s when you find out the characteristics of people, who can handle the situation and who is going to throw in the towel.
“I hate losing and the way results have been going against us, particularly late in games, but I’m coming out fighting and I want players who are going to do exactly the same.”
Simon Eastwood – the first-team back-up – keeps goal tonight as the Reserves look to take a big step towards their totesport.com League East Division title.
