TOWN manager Lee Clark insisted any comments on referee Andy Woolmer’s performance in the goalless derby with Oldham will be made “in the right manner and through the proper channels”.

Decisions made by the Northamptonshire official – booed off at both half and full-time – were questioned by players from both sides during the League I clash, which left both Town and Oldham in the same positions of third and sixth respectively.

Clark, clearly frustrated at times during a match which featured seven cautions, said: “In my time as manager I don’t think I’ve ever come out and had a go at an official.

“I will give feedback on my thoughts, as I do after every match, but it will be in the right manner and through the proper channels.

“All of us involved in football are always trying to improve and hopefully my feedback will go some way to doing that.”

Town striker Alan Lee had staples in a cut head during the game and stitches inserted afterwards, but isn’t a worry for Saturday’s trip to second-placed Bournemouth.
