Mark Robins has told his squad to prove they are worth their places in tomorrow’s home clash with Charlton Athletic.

The boss was pleased with many aspects of Town’s display in the 0-0 draw with Doncaster Rovers and frustrated with others, because he believes the game was there for the taking.

He’s now looking for three points and a better performance tomorrow and explained: “There will be ups and downs and, while we are trying to be better all the time, sometimes we just dip below the standards we have set ourselves.

“Anybody can beat anybody else in the Championship and make life very, very difficult for each other – as Saturday showed – so it just illustrates we have to be on our game all the time.

“Nobody can afford to take their foot off the gas at any time.

“Those who work hard in training and in the matches will rise to the top and they are the ones who will play more games than not.

“It’s important against Charlton we get back on our best game, go out and play like we can and then make the most of the chances when they come along.

“I was disappointed on Saturday because we set out to be a lot better than that, and responsibility has got to be taken.”
