FIRST of all, HTSA would like to wish all members and fellow Town fans a Happy New Year.

Our home matches over the holiday brought draws against Blackpool and Sheffield Wednesday, when we’ve struggled to find composure and creativity.

The major talking point against Wednesday was referee Mick Russell, whose failed to send off Wednesday’s on-loan Manchester City man Jeremy Helan – after giving him two yellow cards – despite protests from the Town players.

The visit to Leicester on New Year’s Day was disastrous as we were well beaten 6-1 by an excellent Foxes side.

A big improvement is needed as we are now only seven points above the relegation zone.

This weeks teaser question is:

Which former Town manager is now in charge at Birmingham?

The first person to email competitions@htsa-online.co.uk is the winner, and this will be announced on the HTSA website and in next week’s Examiner.

The answer to last weeks question (Which Town legend joined Sheffield Wednesday for £2.7m in 1996?) was Andy Booth.

This was answered by Andrew Shorthouse and he wins free HTSA membership for next season

There are two meetings coming up in January.

On Thursday January 10 (7.30pm), Simon Grayson is our guest, while the following Thursday (17th) it’s the Patrons/HTSA Quiz Night.

Both meetings are at Canalside, so get yourselves along for what should be two good evenings.

On Boxing Day, HTSA welcomed Scott Mclachlan as a guest of Town in support of his attempt to walk to all 92 Football League clubs to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK. The Walk will see him on the road for seven months and cover 2400 miles. Huddersfield was club 47.

Fans can donate via his website, which is www.walkthe92.co.uk and also follow his Blog.

A special mention should go to the club as well who were very obliging towards Scott’s cause.

Please do what you can to support his efforts
