HUDDERSFIELD Town chairman Dean Hoyle has told Town fans not to expect further signings before the loan deadline a week on Thursday.

The chairman-owner has backed manager Simon Grayson to bring in 11 players since May’s League I promotion play-off triumph against Sheffield United.

And he says the capture of Reading striker Simon Church for a month means manager Simon Grayson has reached the current budget limit. Click here to view a gallery of Simon Church in training with his Huddersfield Town teammates.

With Town sixth in the Championship ahead of Saturday’s clash with Brighton, when Church will make his home debut, Hoyle said: “We have to remember who we are.

“We’ve all seen instances of clubs over-spending in the pursuit of success and later paying a heavy price.

“I’m willing to underpin things financially, but there’s a limit, and in the long-term, success has to be sustainable.

“We’ve put in a lot of work over the last three years to make sure we’re ready for the Championship.

“Now we are in it, we want to make sure we stay in it, and I believe we have a squad which is capable of competing at this level.

“Given the investment we have already made, we’re not really looking to bring in any further loan players at this stage.”

Church, recruited last week to bolster an attack currently without thigh-injury victim James Vaughan, made a bright debut in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Barnsley.

He supplied the cross for Jermaine

Beckford to head home the winner, and Hoyle added: "It was an excellent three points.

"We’re happy with the start we’ve made, but we know there’s a long way to go, and we certainly aren’t getting complacent."

Town left-back Paul Dixon, another to catch the eye in the derby victory at Oakwell, has been added to the Scotland squad for tomorrow’s friendly in Luxembourg.

The John Smith’s Stadium club also have midfielder Oliver Norwood, an unused substitute at Barnsley, in the Northern Ireland squad for their World Cup qualifier at home to Azerbaijan.

Town are due to play a training-ground game at Sheffield Wednesday today.
