HUDDERSFIELD Town are aiming to maintain their superiority in derby clashes with Leeds.

It’s the 59th league meeting of the neighbours – and Town have won 24 of the previous clashes to their rivals’ 17.

Leeds are chasing their first win in six games against Town, their last coming in December 2007, when they were 4-0 victors in a League I game at Elland Road in which keeper Alex Smithies made his full debut.

Town have won three of the last five derbies, but the most recent two (in 2009-10 in League I) were drawn

Leeds’ last win in Huddersfield came in October 1963, when they were 2-0 winners in the original Division II (now Championship).

They have made 11 visits since (10 league, one League Cup).

Adam Clayton and, if fit, Jermaine Beckford will aim to become the first ex-Leeds men to score for Town against their old club since Billy McGinley back in October 1974.

He managed it in a League Cup second round second replay at Elland Road, when Town, of Division III (League I) were beaten 2-1 after extra time by the reigning top-flight champions.
