Chris Powell will meet one-to-one with each of his Huddersfield Town players today to explain what is expected of them over the summer and next season.

The boss has been generally pleased with the squad’s efforts this term and disappointed they weren’t able to finish with a flourish because of the abandonment at Blackpool on Saturday.

Town have still finished seven matches unbeaten, however, and Powell explained: “I will see them all for five minutes each.

“Dean came in and thanked them all on Saturday and I will thank them myself, personally, and shake hands.

“For most of them it is a case of building on fledgling careers at this level – and it’s a very good level.

“And I feel with more experience a few of them can play higher.

“I played at that level, so I know what it takes and I know a few have got it – but there are a few who I will demand a bit more from as well.

“We can’t settle for what we’ve done this year, they have got to push themselves and always endeavour to be winners. They have got that in their mental make-up and we want to build on it for next year.”
