TOWN could switch their FA Cup first-round clash with Dagenham and Redbridge to Friday, November 6.

The rugby league international between England and New Zealand means the Galpharm is already in use on Saturday, November 7, the date set aside for the bulk of the 40 ties.

That’s left the two clubs to agree an alternative for their first-ever meeting, and it seems the Friday night is the favoured option.

While those arrangements have still to be confirmed, Town have fixed their FA Youth Cup first- round clash at Darlington.

That does take place on Saturday, November 7, with a 12.00 kick-off. Admission at the Darlington Arena will be £3 adults, £1 concessions.

Town’s FA Premier Academy League home clash with Nottingham Forest, originally scheduled for that day, will now be rearranged.

The juniors’ next game, away to Sunderland, has been brought forward to this Friday (12.00).

Town are likely to include a number of academy players in the reserve side to take on Middlesbrough today.

The totesport.com League East Division game is at AFC Emley’s Welfare Ground (2.00), and fans will be intrigued to see whether new Boro boss Gordon Strachan is present.

Town boss Lee Clark, who celebrates his 37th birthday today, is already preparing for Sunday’s big League I derby at Oldham Athletic, for which Town have already sold 2,000 tickets.

Supporters can pay on the gate at Boundary Park (2.00 kick-off) but prices go up by £2.
