HUDDERSFIELD Town boss Simon Grayson will give Murray Wallace, Nathan Clarke and Liam Ridehalgh the chance to stake a claim for play-off inclusion.

Town are confident of receiving international clearance in time for former Falkirk centre-back Wallace to face semi-final opponents MK Dons if selected.

And while loaned out striker Jimmy Spencer will remain at Cheltenham for their League II semi-final ties against Torquay, defenders Clarke and Ridehalgh are back from their stints at Town’s League I rivals Bury and Chesterfield respectively.

Centre-back Clarke played 11 times for the Shakers while full-back Ridehalgh, having made a contribution to Swindon’s promotion from League II after a loan spell there earlier this season, turned out 20 times for the Spireites.

Wallace, who has received a Scotland Under 20 call-up for a forthcoming tournament in Holland, joined Clarke, Ridehalgh and the rest of the Town squad in a training session on the Galpharm pitch yesterday.

“It was great to get a first sight of Murray in the flesh,” reported manager Grayson of the 19-year-old who was signed from Falkirk by Lee Clark on deadline day in January but immediately loaned back to the Scottish First Division side, who completed their campaign with a 3-2 home win over Ayr on Saturday.

“We’ve been watching him closely and he certainly looked the part in training. We’re chasing up his clearance papers, because it makes sense to have him available.

“It’s the same for Nathan and Liam. They are our players and we want as many options as possible ahead of the next two, and hopefully three games.”

Town head for MK for the first leg on Saturday (12.30) installed by Ladbrokes as 5/2 second favourites for promotion behind Sheffield United (13/8).

MK are rated 11/4 and Stevenage 4/1.
