LIAM RIDEHALGH today signed a new one-year Huddersfield Town contract.

The 22-year-old will now compete with Calum Woods, Paul Dixon and new Irish recruit Jake Carroll for the left-back berth.

"The next year is very important for Liam’s development and I’m looking forward to getting a close look at him during pre-season." said manager Mark Robins.

Ridehalgh, who made 26 Town appearances in 2010-11, has spent the last two seasons out on loan, at Swindon, Chesterfield and Rotherham.
