MURRAY WALLACE will experience Huddersfield Town’s play-off preparations first hand.

The teenage centre-back who was signed on deadline day but immediately loaned back to Falkirk is set to train with Simon Grayson’s squad this week after completing the Scottish First Division campaign.

Wallace, who signed off with a 41st appearance as the Bairns beat Ayr 3-2 on Saturday, will watch both legs of the semi-final against MK Dons, the first of them away on Saturday (12.30).

And the up-and-coming star who has already played at Hampden this season (against Celtic in the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup) would love to experience a trip to Wembley for the play-off final.

“That would be amazing,” said the 19-year-old Glaswegian, who was originally with Rangers before coming through the Falkirk academy.

“I’ve been following events in Huddersfield closely ever since I signed, and I’m really looking forward to starting the next phase of my career. With the Scottish season over, this is a great chance to come down, get a feel for the club and the town and sort out somewhere to live.

“I’m looking forward to training with the rest of the lads and getting to know them better, and to experience the play-offs, even from the sidelines, will be fantastic.

“There will be some hard work in store, because there are two hugely important games coming up, and I’m ready to roll up my sleeves.”

Wallace, who will see a familiar face in former Falkirk teammate Kallum Higginbotham, heads South with a winners’ medal (after beating Hamilton in the final of the Scottish Communities Cup) but disappointed at missing out on promotion to the Premier Division.

“We gave it a good go, but Ross County, who are an up-and-coming club with a decent budget, were just too strong for everyone in the division,” he said.

“With only one team going up, it’s tough up in Scotland, but this season has given me great experience, and I can’t wait for the new challenge of playing for Town.”
