Feed the Nahk and he will score!

That’s the verdict from Huddersfield Town fans who believe leading scorer Nahki Wells will continue to deliver if given the right service.

He netted twice in the 3-1 win over Preston North End to take his tally for the season to seven, and he could easily have had another couple of goals.

Fans also rallied in support of Joe Lolley as a 90-minute player and are hoping Town can somehow keep hold of Leicester City loanee Ben Chilwell.

Steve, from Huddersfield said: “Lolley had a free role and was outstanding.

“Wells needs to play on the last defender for 90 minutes and forget tracking back to defend – he’s more focused when he doesn’t have to worry about defencive duties.

“Keep him and Lolley up the pitch the goals will follow!”

Terry, from Fenay Bridge, agrees.

“Seems to have taken a while to get the right ball through to Wells, but shows it can be done,” he explained.

“Must try to keep Chilwell at the club, and with a couple more signings things could be looking up!”

Doncaster-based Geoff joined the think tank

“Enjoyed the game, we showed more steel in midfield and slick moves up front,” he said.

“Nice to see Nahki Wells in form again. Hope we can hold on to Chilwell.”

Neil, from Holmfirth, described the team performance as “brilliant”, while Alison, from Thurstonland, said: “Great second half performance.

“Wells really looks the part when his confidence is up. Hudson has his critics but he’s a leader and motivator and, in interview, Mr Wagner appeared to suggest that if fit Hudson was a starter.”

Mirfield fan Alan reckons a striker and defender are still needed.

“Very good result,” he said. “But we need to keep it up and remain consistent.

“We still need a quality striker to enhance the front line and a quality centre half. How about bringing Jordy Hiwula back from Wigan and giving him a try. After all DW, it is all about youth.”

Another Alan, this time from Cowlersley, said: “The second half performance was the best yet since Wagner has been here, but consistency is still the key.

“We need to play like that every week. I’m sure he will get it right.”
