Huddersfield Town fans have been named as the fourth most optimistic set of supporters ahead of the 2016/17 Championship season.

The English Football League ran a survey to gauge which fans were most positive about the new campaign, with all three divisions involved.

Town came fourth in the Championship, scoring 4.37 out of five in terms of optimism - with a five being 'very optimistic'.

Newcastle United fans were first in the survey, scoring 4.78, with Sheffield Wednesday (4.69) and Derby County (4.41) splitting the Magpies and the Terriers.

At the other end of the table, Ipswich (3.15), Blackburn (2.89) and Rotherham (2.62) fill the relegation zones, with the Millers being the most pessimistic fans in the Championship.

Scunthorpe (4.43) and Millwall (4.39) have the most positive fans in League One ahead of the start of the season, with both sides chasing promotion to the second tier.
