AFTER disappointing away defeats, Huddersfield Town steadied the ship by taking four points from home games against Bristol City and Blackburn.

But as they head back out on the road, the pressure is on to maintain that improvement.

Some bookies aren’t sure if they can, some firms marking identical prices against Simon Grayson’s men and opponents Barnsley, but BetVictor rank Town as slight outsiders at 9/5 while Stan James rate the Tykes as narrow favourites at 6/4.

That could prompt punters to tackle the draw at 12/5 courtesy of Skybet, especially as Town shared the spoils in midweek and, indeed, a repeat of Tuesday’s 2-2 scoreline might prove popular at 14/1 via William Hill.

Fans cautious with regards to the stalemate can back the Terriers in bet365’s ‘Draw No Bet’ market at even money, but as the hosts are struggling at the wrong end of the table – having lost three matches in a row – Grayson’s troops should perhaps have the edge at Oakwell.

Ladbrokes rate Town at 9/1 to finish on the right side of a 2-1 scoreline and it’s 7/2 courtesy of bet365 for any away victory by a one-goal margin in what should be a tight encounter.

BetVictor, meanwhile, mark 11/2 against a triumph for Town after an even first period and it’s 20/21 (Stan James) for the fixture to generate three or more goals.

The same bookmaker offers a slightly skinnier 8/11 about both teams contributing to that goal tally and, following on from his midweek brace against Blackburn, Terriers’ frontman Lee Novak is a 7/1 shot in bet365’s first scorer betting, although some supporters might prefer BetVictor’s 7/4 for Novak to notch at any stage.
