Huddersfield Town goalkeeper Joe Murphy has joined Chesterfield on a week-long loan.

The 33-year-old, who made his competitive debut for Town at Chesterfield in a 5-3 extra time win, moves to the Spireites to act as cover for the injured Tommy Lee and will make his debut in tomorrow's League One play-off semi-final second leg against Preston North End.

Former Town striker Jermaine Beckford scored the winner in a 1-0 success for the Lilywhites in last week's first leg at the Proact Stadium.

The loan window may be closed, but clubs are allowed to bring in goalkeepers in exceptional circumstances and so Murphy, who has made four appearances in his debut season at the club in all competitions, will move on loan to aid Paul Cook's side in their bid to reach the Championship.
