TOWN will go to Chesterfield in the second round of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.
The meeting with the League II side, the first between the pair in this competition, will take place at Saltergate in the week beginning October 5.
The draw means Town will play three successive away games – at Walsall on Tuesday, September 29 and Colchester on Saturday, October 3, both in League I, then at Chesterfield.
John Sheridan’s side are 15th in League I after slumping 3-1 at new leaders Rotherham, where Town won 2-1 in the JPT first round last Tuesday.
Chesterfield were 5-1 first-round winners at Burton with the help of two goals from Wade Small, their recent signing from Charlton.
