HUDDERSFIELD Town are hoping record numbers will turn up when they hold their annual Open Day next Tuesday.

Over 750 fans attended the stadium for last year’s event, when the doors were thrown open and people enjoyed getting up-close with the first-team squad.

As in previous seasons, there will be an open training session when supporters can watch Simon Grayson’s (pictured) promotion-winning first-team squad.

It will be the day after they have played at Preston in the Capital One Cup first round and will form part of their build-up to the npower Championship kick-off against Cardiff in South Wales on the following Friday night.

Doors will open at 9.30am and fans will get a final opportunity to have their picture taken with the Trophy Town collected at Wembley when they beat Sheffield United in the play-offs.

From 10.30 to Noon, fans can watch training on the John Smith’s Stadium pitch from the Direct Golf UK Stand.

When the squad have trained, people will be able to view the coach which takes Town to matches, tour the ground, visit the boardroom, view a mock-up of Town’s pre and post-match press conference area, stand in the tunnel area and have a look at the changing rooms.

A highlight for all fans should be a rare opportunity to see the Billy Smith memorabilia, which covers the club’s glorious era through the 1920s when they were the first club in this country to win the title three times in succession.

From 1pm to 3pm in the Fantastic Media Stand, all Town’s players will take part in a huge autograph session.

Town intend it to be a fun and full day for all the family and will incorporate the successful ‘Kit Man’ sale once again, when players’ kit will be available along with other exclusive items from last season.
