LEE CLARK hopes to add Tommy Miller to the selection equation for tomorrow’s key League I clash at Wycombe Wanderers.

And Huddersfield Town’s boss has confirmed the midfielder’s fellow hamstring injury victim Damien Johnson is making good progress in his recovery.

The former Northern Ireland star has no chance of featuring in the Sky-televised clash at Adams Park (7.45), where a win would lift Town from fifth to third.

But Miller, who picked up his problem during the 1-1 home stalemate with Carlisle last Friday and missed Monday’s 2-2 draw at Notts County, is close to a return.

“Tommy felt his hamstring, but it seems to be more of a niggle than anything more serious. We won’t take needless risks, but we’re hopeful he will be available,” explained the manager.

The pair have been key men for Clark this season, with Miller making 23 appearances and Johnson 13.

However the boss, whose squad will train at Oxford today en route to Buckinghamshire, says their absence does not account for the surrender of a two-goal lead at Notts.

“There’s nothing we can now do about the two points we threw away, but we are working hard on changing the factors behind giving away too many goals,” he said.

“We have scored six in our last two away games, yet taken only two points. We need wins, not draws, we have to start getting them and the players have got to start delivering. It may be that we change the system, and the players know that some of them may lose their place because of it.

“I want to see the ones who come in seizing their chance and making it impossible for me to leave them out.”

Wycombe boss Gary Waddock has also pledged to make changes in the wake of successive defeats by Stevenage and Bournemouth.

Meanwhile Town striker Jordan Rhodes could land a second npower League I player of the month award of the season.

The October winner has been nominated alongside Wycombe’s Marcello Trotta, Sheffield United’s Neil Collins and Stevenage’s Michael Bostwick for the December accolade.

Rhodes, who is on 22 goals for the season, scored six during the month, including all four in the draw at Sheffield Wednesday.

The winner will be announced tomorrow morning.
