David Wagner said Huddersfield Town "totally deserved" their 2-0 win at Blackburn Rovers.

Nahki Wells, with his 17th goal of the season, and a Matt Kilgallon own goal earned a first victory at Ewood Park since 1986.

Town are now 16th, 11 points above the Championship drop zone with only 12 left to play for.

"I think we altogether, the supporters, players and staff can be very happy with this result. We totally deserved it," said Wagner.

"It wasn't an easy game but after the first 10 minutes we were in a good position. We kept the ball, we were able to keep them away from
our goal and we created some chances.

"Nahki has a good nose for a goal and he smelled what could happen (defender Shane Duffy sold his keeper short with a header) and scored.

"We only had some problems when they had a few chances after our second goal but we finished strongly.

"I was very happy with this performance.
