Mark Robins says conversations have taken place with potential additions to his Huddersfield Town coaching staff.

But the manager insists he won’t be rushed into appointments, and has hinted there could be a new role for development chief Steve Eyre.

First-team coach Steve Taylor, head of performance Darren Robinson and goalkeeping coach Paul Crichton have all left the club.

There have been suggestions academy goalkeeping coach Nick Colgan could take on first-team duties with Ian Bennett, just released by Town as a player, returning to work with the juniors.

Eyre has won praise for his work with Town’s Under 21s. They have reached the Professional Development League II play-offs in both his seasons and won the North section title this time around.

“I’m looking at the structure as well as the personnel,” said Robins.

“I have had some interesting conversations, and there is plenty to think about.

“Steve is an experienced coach and he will certainly be of great help as we move forward. It could be that his role changes, but at this stage nothing has been decided.

“I will look at the skill sets of each individual and consider how best they could be deployed.”

Town will start group training on July 1. Robins added: “I am well into pre-season planning.”
