TOWN don’t have another Saturday 3.00 kick-off until November 21, when Hartlepool visit, but that won’t worry Lee Clark.

The Town boss recalls a time during his playing career when games starting at the traditional time were very much in the minority.

“Sunday football became more common as my career went on,” said the ex-Newcastle, Sunderland and Fulham midfielder.

“It was especially the case when Newcastle got into the UEFA Cup, because we’d play those ties on a Thursday, so Sunday games became the norm.

“You got used to playing at different times, and your preparation remained exactly the same, but was carried out around whatever the matchday and kick-off time was.”
