Jonathan Hogg says James Vaughan and Nahki Wells will be a potent force in the Championship this season.
Wells became Town’s club-record £1.3m signing from Bradford City in January, and fired in seven goals.
But he had few chances to play alongside Vaughan after the 12-goal top scorer suffered injury problems.
The duo will continue to perfect their partnership in Portugal next week.
Mark Robins’ squad fly out tomorrow for seven days’ work in the Algarve.
And at the end of the first full week of pre-season training at PPG Canalside, midfielder Hogg said: “It’s going well.
“James obviously had his fitness problems last season, so it’s great to see him back in the thick of it.
“He’s a real winner, and gives absolutely everything out on the pitch.
“And we saw how lively a player Nahki is.
“Each of them have different strengths, and together, they will be a force.”
