OLIVER NORWOOD is counting down the minutes to Huddersfield Town’s clash with Burnley and revealed: “It’s going to be really special for me.”

The reason the 21-year-old midfielder is so excited is that he’s Burnley born and bred, still lives in the town and supports the Turf Moor club!

“Oh yes I’m a Burnley fan,” he beamed as Town returned to the training ground following the 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest.

“I was brought up there, I still live there and it will be nice to play against them – really special for me.”

Signed from Manchester United, Norwood has impressed in Town’s opening matches against Cardiff City and Forest, but nothing would delight him more than victory on Saturday to have the bragging rights over his mates.

“I played last year at Burnley when I was on loan with Coventry and set up the equalising goal, which was great,” he added.

“To be honest, I don’t even think who I’m playing against once I cross the white line, but it will be great if we can beat Burnley so I can have a bit of banter afterwards with my family and friends.”

On Town’s prospects, Norwood added: “We have to keep believing in ourselves and we’ll be fine.

“We’ve shown what we can do against two good sides and we have more than enough ability to do well.”
