ALMOST 90% of fans back Dean Hoyle's decision for Huddersfield Town to dispense with the services of manager Simon Grayson.

The chairman met with the former boss yesterday to tell him the bad news after the former Leeds boss had seen his side slump to no league wins in 12.

Our poll of just over 300 fans showed that 89% were in favour of the chairman's decision with just under 11% thinking that it was a bad move.

As for replacements, a whopping 76% of respondents said axed Southampton manager Nigel Adkins was the one for them.

As soon as Grayson left Town bookies made former Scunthorpe boss Adkins the favourite for the job.

A distant second in our poll was Swindon Town's charismatic boss Paolo Di Canio on just 4.5% while former Burnley and Bolton boss Owen Coyle came in third with just 2.3%.

The figures since Grayson departed Town show a movement in opinion since the chairman's action.

In our mid season survey, which closed for entries on Wednesday evening, more than 70% of respondents believed that Simon Grayson's decisions this season had either been average or good.

Just a quarter of voters believed the former boss's decisions were either poor or terrible.

The backing for Grayson was also evident when we asked whether he had moved the club on since promotion.

Just over 64% of respondents said he had while just under 36% believed he hadn't.
