Huddersfield Town will be wary of old boy Danny Ward’s threat when they face Rotherham United at the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday.

And they will also be going head to head with former full-back Jack Hunt, who is on loan to the South Yorkshire side from Crystal Palace.

But Chris Powell’s side won’t come up against Adam Hammill, who is ineligible for the Championship clash under the terms of his loan from Town.

Ward, 24, who has moved the the New York Stadium on a permanent deal, scored for the second game running as Rotherham lost 3-1 at home to Cardiff City on Tuesday.

Steve Evans’ survival-chasing side scored a crucial 2-1 home win over relegation rivals Millwall last Saturday and are currently six points better off than the third-bottom Londoners.

Hammill, 26, whose Town contract runs through to 2016, came off the bench in both the last two games, but won’t be available to Evans this weekend.

He has made three starts and eight substitute appearances while Ward’s respective tallies are six and four, with three goals.

Hunt, 24, who twice faced Town while on loan to Nottingham Forest earlier this season, has made four starts and had two outings from the bench for the Millers.

Town are five points better off than Rotherham, who will be making their first visit to Huddersfield since losing 3-0 in a League I game in August 2006.

Their last away league win over Town was 3-0 in Division II (now the Championship) at Leeds Road in March 1964.

Promoted from League II to the Championship in successive seasons, they have chalked up two away wins so far this campaign – at Millwall and Wigan Athletic.

Late goals by Johnson Clarke-Harris and Lee Frecklington earned them a 2-2 Boxing Day home draw against Town, who had led through James Vaughan and Conor Coady.
