Huddersfield Town will play Bundesliga sides Werder Bremen and FC Ingolstadt on their pre-season tour to Austria.

David Wagner’s side will face Bremen in Zell am Ziller – close to their Fugen training base – on Tuesday, July 26.

They will then tackle FC Ingolstadt on Friday, July 29, and a venue still to be decided (but close to the training base).

Both sides finished in mid-table in the 18-team division in the 2015/16 campaign; Werder Bremen finished 13th with 38 points from 34 games, with Ingolstadt two placed and two points above them.

Town will then have a free week leading up to the big Championship opener at home to Brentford on Saturday, August 6.

First-team pre-season friendlies already on the calendar are at Guiseley (Wednesday, July 6), Oldham Athletic (Saturday, July 16) and the Shankly Trophy game at home to Liverpool on Wednesday, July 20.

While Town will be playing FC Ingolstadt for the first time, they did play Werder Bremen in a friendly at Leeds Road back in May 1967, when Joe Harper scored twice and Brian Clark added another in a 3-0 Town win watched by 7,625 fans.
