SIMON GRAYSON is putting together two pre-season schedules for Huddersfield Town – with the choice depending on what division they will be playing in.

The Championship-chasing boss, who is planning for the League I play-off semi-final clashes with MK Dons, has sounded out a series of clubs about friendlies.

“Our plans, both in terms of training schedules and matches, are quite well on, but we won’t be confirming anything at this stage,” said the Galpharm chief.

“I like to set up a variety of games which will provide a variety of tests, but you don’t want to be up against a side who will be in the same division.”

Like predecessor Lee Clark, who fixed up matches against Hamilton and Dunfermline for Town, Grayson took Leeds to Scotland last summer, when they faced Falkirk and Motherwell.

The Elland Road side returned for trips to League I pair Rochdale and Sheffield Wednesday before hosting Premier League Newcastle.

“I like to have at least one trip away, because they help both in terms of team bonding and breaking up what is a tough schedule of physical work,” added Grayson, whose side host Yeovil on Saturday.

“As well as Scotland, we also took Leeds to Northern Ireland (in 2009) and Slovakia (2010), and the tours were very useful.

“We’re looking at doing something similar this time, but nothing will be confirmed until we know what’s what in terms of the play-offs.”

Town will go into the Yeovil clash aiming to win and hoping MK Dons are beaten at home to Walsall.

With MK’s goal difference eight better, that’s the only realistic scenario which would give Grayson’s side a final position of fourth and therefore home advantage in the second leg of the play-off semi on Tuesday, May 15.
