Huddersfield Town will now play their away match against Preston on Wednesday October 19 after pushing it back by one day.

Town were due to play the Lilywhites at Deepdale on the Tuesday but have postponed the fixture by a day after hearing their fixture against Sheffield Wednesday had been moved from Saturday to the Sunday before.

The game against the Owls was moved so it could be televised by Sky Sports as the Football League do not allow 3pm matches on a Saturday to be broadcast to keep attendances up at stadiums.

Clubs are allowed to move Tuesday matches to a Wednesday if they are due to play on a Sunday and the Terriers have invoked that right.

Town will now play three matches in eight days in October, with the Rams set to visit the John Smith's Stadium on Saturday October 22.

The Terriers do have a break running in to the eight-day period, with an international break scheduled for Saturday October 8 - Sunday October 9.
