Huddersfield Town boss David Wagner has been selected as manager of the EFL Team of the Week following his side's victory over Newcastle United at St James' Park on Saturday.

Last week Aaron Mooy had been Town's sole representative, but the mantle has been taken up by Wagner who masterminded the famous win for the Terriers.

Aston Villa's Rudy Gestede was selected up front alongside Bristol City's Tammy Abraham and MK Dons' Kieran Agard after all three notched braces at the weekend.

Anthony Knockaert from Brighton and Barnsley's Conor Hourihane are joined in midfield by League Two representative Brennan Dickenson from Colchester United.

John Egan from Brentford is the Championship's only representative in defence, being partnered in the middle by Newport County's Jamie Turley.

Gillingham's Ryan Jackson and Elliot Johnson of Barnet complete the back four, with Port Vale's Jak Alnwick between the sticks.

Aaron Mooy may feel hard done by not being selected after being rated at an 8.6 out of 10 for his display at St James' Park, and Jack Payne and Nahki Wells' goals were not enough to see them named this week.
