LEE CLARK is planning to send a strong side to Lincoln City for Town’s reserve opener tomorrow night (7.00).

Keeper Matt Glennon, defenders Robbie Williams and Nathan Clarke, midfielder Jim Goodwin and frontmen Lee Novak and Robbie Simpson are among those pencilled in for Sincil Bank.

Boss Clark is keen to get meaningful match action for as many of his squad members as possible, and given the limited totesport.com League East Division programme, is set to fix up a string of private practice games.

“We’ve got only 18 reserve games to start with and we’ve already had to rearrange one (Hartlepool at home is now on Wednesday, October 21 because the original date clashed with Town’s Carling Cup clash at Newcastle),” explained Clark, who gave his players yesterday off.

“There’s also a question mark against next week’s game against Newcastle (due to be played at the Galpharm a week tonight) because they have their Carling Cup third-round tie against Blackpool the night after.

“If it hadn’t been for having a midweek game every week up to this one, I’d have already had some behind-closed-doors games, and it’s something I’m looking at now.

“We need to get the lads who aren’t starting matches some proper football so they are ready to come in and do a job when we need them, which we will at some stage.”
