FORMER Huddersfield Town midfielder Jim Goodwin has swapped clubs in Scotland.

The former Scunthorpe United man, who left Town in August last year, had joined Hamilton Academical in September on a short-term deal.

However that deal expired on New Year's Day and Goodwin, who started his career at Celtic, has now joined SPL strugglers St Mirren on a six-month contract.

Former Huddersfield Town loanee John Rooney is also moving to pastures new.

Rooney, brother of Manchester United and England star Wayne, appeared for Town when they beat AFC Emley 5-0 in pre-season after his deal at Macclesfield expired.

However Town decided against bringing him in - and he is now in the USA and is due to take part in Major League Soccer's next draft.

On-loan Town player James Spencer will now spend the rest of the season at Morecambe after the Shrimpers extended his deal.

The 19-year-old, who went to Morecambe in July on a six-month loan deal, has made 13 appearances so far this term, scoring twice.
