Huddersfield Town have smashed through the 10,000 season-card target – and released more of the £179 specials.

At 5pm on Monday, Town had sold 11,000 of the cut-price cards, so chairman Dean Hoyle has released another 4,000.

But there will be no more available once the 15,000 mark is reached.

The news comes after Saturday's stunning 4-1 derby victory at Leeds United which has got fans in really buoyant mood.

Hoyle explained: “I’ve been absolutely blown away by the speed at which we have sold the first 11,000 Season Cards at the discounted prices.

“The speed of sales is a record for the club – unprecedented, even for the £100 Centenary offer back in 2008.

“It’s been an amazing few days at the Ticket Office and I’d like to thank everyone who has already bought their season card.

“Given how popular the deal has been, I’ve decided to freeze the prices and give a further 4,000 fans the chance to join the #WagnerRevolution.

“This makes sure anyone who has been caught off guard by the popularity of the deal doesn’t miss out.

“We’ll decide on the new prices in due course but once the 4,000 have gone, they’re gone.

“We’ve still got work to do this season, but 2016-17 already looks promising!”

Fans queued from 4.15am at the John Smith’s Stadium Ticket Office when tickets went on sale. They can also book via phone and online at htafc.com.

The club launched their discounted ticket deal for an initial 10,000 fans, with prices set at just £179 for adults, £69 for 8-17 year-olds and £23 for Under 8s.
