HUDDERSFIELD Town boss Simon Grayson hailed the final-day League I win over Yeovil – but played down the supposed advantage of facing MK Dons at home in the second leg of the play-off semi-finals.

The Galpharm side’s 2-0 triumph, combined with MK’s unexpected 1-0 home defeat by Walsall, means Town finished fourth in the table and will go to Buckinghamshire on Saturday (12.30) before hosting Karl Robinson’s fifth-placed side tomorrow week, May 15 (7.45).

“I’m not too bothered about what went on down at MK Dons,” said the Town boss.

“Some people say having the second leg at home is an advantage, but we still have to beat them over two legs, whichever way around the games are.

“I said before this match that I wasn’t too concerned about where we finished in the table.

“I wanted to get this game out of the way on a positive note then look at the bigger picture of playing MK Dons.

“I was pleased with the performance because we created some good opportunities and there were some good individual displays.

“The players knew they had an opportunity to stake their claim ahead of the play-offs and a possible Wembley appearance.

“I wanted them to be looking over their shoulders at the players sitting on the bench or in the stand ready to take their places, and I think they did that.”

With Alan Lee making good progress after a knee problem, left-back Gary Naysmith (knee and calf) is Town’s one injury concern.

And Grayson added: “Some players are going to be disappointed because they all want to be involved over the next two games.

“I have a good idea of what my team will be on Saturday, and hopefully we’ll have no fitness problems through the week.

“Whoever I pick, it will be for the sake of the club and the team, not individuals, and I expect every player who is involved to go out and do their job.

“I know how MK play, and I know how I want us to play against them. We were working on our plan last week and we will continue to do it this week.

“We’ll go to MK with focus and determination to get a result. We will be positive in our approach.

“The job is far from done. I came here to get the club promoted and until I do that won’t have achieved anything.”
